Victoria von Wachter welcomes the outcome of Hussain v Chief Constable of Bedfordshire Constabulary

22 September 2023

Victoria von Wachter welcomed the the outcome of a claim against Bedfordshire police. A police constable, dismissed for failing to manage the breach of a non molestation notice and giving wholly inappropriate advice to the victim of domestic violence, mounted an Employment Tribunal claim that his dismissal was by reason of his race and / or religion. He sought to impugn the PSD investigator, the Disciplinary Panel and the KC chairing the appeal. All claims failed.

Victoria was instructed by the Force solicitor to represent the Chief Constable of Bedfordshire Police.
