Victoria von Wachter successfully represented the Appropriate Authority in gross misconduct case

27 November 2024

Victoria von Wachter represented the Appropriate Authority in the disciplinary hearing where Cambridgeshire police officer, PC James Roper, was dismissed for gross misconduct having made offensive comments online. It was heard that Roper had posted on social media via LBC following an article on the plight of illegals in small boats. He advocated that Muslims in boats should be left to their god to be rescued – and if not then it was not to be! Also found to be misconduct was the officer’s use of an offensive term relating to disabled persons.
