Russell Fortt successfully defends a personal injury claim brought by a serving police officer against Norfolk Constabulary

In Borrett v Chief Constable of Norfolk, the claimant sought damages in excess of £150,000 for PTSD he claimed he suffered whilst working as a firearms officer and which led to him having to be re-deployed to other duties.

The court accepted the Defendant’s contention that the claimant did not inform the Defendant of any symptoms indicative of PTSD and that any alleged failures in monitoring or screening firearms officers would have made no difference.
