Background

Millicent Wild accepts instructions in all of Chambers’ core practice areas, with particular interest in police law, inquests and inquiries, public and administrative law, and information law.

Millicent has experience advising a range of clients including police forces, government departments and individuals. She regularly appears in the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court and county courts in civil applications. She has particular expertise in Sexual Harm Prevention Orders, Sexual Risk Orders, Proceeds of Crime Act applications and firearms appeals. She is also instructed through the Government Legal Department’s ‘Junior Junior’ scheme.

Millicent studied at the University of Oxford, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (First Class) and became a Scholar of St Catherine’s College. She was awarded the John Hicks Prize for Academic Excellence and multiple awards from St Catherine’s College for her Preliminary and Final examination results. During her Undergraduate studies, Millicent was a committee member of Oxford Global Model United Nations and visited China twice, chairing committees on human rights and contemporary political issues.

Prior to pupillage, Millicent was a diplomat in the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, working on national security and policy issues. She worked as a desk officer on human rights issues in Myanmar, lobbying the International Court of Justice. She was also a legal intern working on high-profile judicial reviews and international legal issues.

2020-2021: Graduate Diploma in Law at City, University of London (Distinction)

2021 – 2023: Bar Practice Training Course at University of Law, London (Very Competent)

2023: Called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn.
