Jack Palmer accepts instructions in all of Chambers’ core practice areas, with particular interest in police law, public and administrative law including judicial review, human rights and civil liberties, inquests and inquiries, and data protection and information law.
He acted as junior counsel for the Ministry of Justice in Forbury Gardens Inquests. He welcomes instructions as part of a counsel team and to appear unled. He is regularly instructed unled in multi-week inquests on behalf of government bodies. He has experience with many forms of civil proceedings including judicial review, defamation, data protection, false imprisonment, malfeasance, claims under the Human Rights Act and Equality Act, personal injury claims and court of protection proceedings at all levels of court up to and including the High Court.
Prior to Pupillage, Jack worked in the Energy and Environmental technology industries after being granted a First from the University of Oxford. Jack was awarded an Outstanding grade in his Bar Vocational Studies course and was the recipient of Middle Temple’s Queen Mother Scholarship.
