Background

J accepts instructions in all of Chambers’ core practice areas, with a particular interest in police law, data and information law, judicial review, and public and administrative law.

J has a wide experience of civil applications in the Magistrates’ court, specialising in applications under the Stalking Protection Act 2019 and the Sexual Offences Act 2003. They have also been instructed in multiple appeals in the Crown Court and civil cases in the County Courts.

J was called to the Bar in 2023, after completing the Bar Course at City Law School and the GDL at Oxford Brookes University. While studying, J was awarded the Droop and Lord Bowen Scholarships from Lincoln’s Inn, the School of Law essay prize from Oxford Brookes and an academic scholarship from City Law School.

J holds an MA in Journalism from the University of British Columbia and a BA in French and Italian from the University of Oxford. They speak both languages fluently and, prior to pupillage, worked as a prize-winning literary translator.
