The Information Law seminar will explore the question of "Privacy, Ethics and the Law" and we are privileged to welcome Karim Palant, Facebook's UK Public Policy Manager, and our own Fiona Barton QC, as keynote speakers. Jason Beer QC, Head of Chambers, will chair the event.

"Rights and Responsibilities Online" – Karim Palant, UK Public Policy Manager, Facebook
Through case studies, Karim will explore some of the challenges Facebook and other social media platforms face on a daily basis. He will look at the role of regulators in this area and the role the general public has to play.

The Courts and Privacy – Fiona Barton QC of 5 Essex Chambers
Fiona will look at the latest developments in the law around privacy with a particular focus on the recent BBC v Cliff Richard case. Fiona will explore how far the courts have been prepared to go to protect individual privacy and whether we should expect them to do more.

A Roundtable Discussion
Jason Beer QC will chair a discussion on the key issues with our speakers, Karim Palant and Fiona Barton QC and take questions from the floor.
