Peter Laverack to deliver speech at House of Lords event on Jones v Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago

15 November 2019

Jason Beer QC and Peter Laverack will attend the House of Lords tonight as guests of Lord Smith of Finsbury. The event has been organised by charity Frontline AIDS, and Peter will be speaking about the landmark case Jones v Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago which decriminalised homosexuality in the Caribbean nation. Mr Jones wrote in the Guardian of the support he received from Peter and described him as “the architect of the legal arguments that won the day”.  Peter continues to work alongside Jason Beer QC on a number of Commonwealth human rights cases.
