1 June 2018

5 Essex Chambers  is pleased to announce that Peter Laverack has become a tenant.

Head of Chambers, Jason Beer QC, comments: “We are delighted that Peter has accepted tenancy with Chambers  He has already had an impressive legal career to date and notably his involvement in the recent landmark international human rights case decriminalising homosexuality in Trinidad and Tobago. His experience will bring an added and valuable dimension to Chambers and for our clients. I am sure he will continue to build a highly successful practice.”

Peter joined 5 Essex Chambers as a third-six pupil in November 2017. He qualified as a solicitor in 2010, working as a litigator at Hogan Lovells and then in the NGO sector.  Peter transferred to the Bar in 2015. He practises across 5 Essex Chambers’s core areas, representing police forces, and public and local authorities as well as his growing practice in international law and Commonwealth human rights litigation.
