Mark Thomas and Peter Taheri appear in the inquest touching upon the death of Marta Elena Vento

Marta was working as a receptionist at the Travelodge hotel on Christchurch Road, Bournemouth. In the early hours of the 9th December 2020 she was attacked by a resident at the hotel, Stephen Cole, which led to her receiving multiple blunt force head injuries that led to her death.

Cole had been released from prison on 27th October 2020. The focus of the inquest is on events from the point of his release from prison.

Cole pleaded guilty to Marta’s manslaughter and was sentenced to detention in hospital.

The inquest, which will last 6 weeks, will explore the management of Cole by a range of agencies before he attacked Marta.
