Lissy Verrall-Withers joins 5 Essex Chambers

20 March 2023

We are delighted to announce that Lissy Verrall-Withers has accepted an invitation to join Chambers as a tenant. Lissy joined us for her third six in October 2022 and has since been acquiring experience across Chambers’ core practice areas, particularly in police law, data protection issues, and work related to inquests. She is a part of the Government Legal Department’s ‘Junior Junior’ scheme and is assisting on a major public inquiry.

Before undertaking her third six, Lissy completed a commercial pupillage in a boutique litigation firm where she gained exposure to international arbitration and a wide range of commercial, company and insolvency disputes.

Head of Chambers, Jason Beer KC, comments: “We are very fortunate to have Lissy – she is an exceptional talent, whose intelligence, common sense and personality mean that she has got a very rosy future in Chambers.”

Lissy will officially become a tenant of 5 Essex Chambers on 3rd April 2023. She comments: “I am very pleased to be joining such an outstanding set of chambers. 5EC presents the opportunity to do extremely interesting, high-profile work from the off and to work in a collegiate environment with outstanding clerks and a fantastic chambers team. I can’t wait to get started.”.
