Jason Beer QC appointed a Deputy High Court Judge

17 July 2020

Chambers is pleased to announce that Jason Beer QC has been appointed a Deputy High Court Judge.

The appointment followed an open competition by the Judicial Appointments Commission. Although the appointment is to all three Divisions of the High Court, it is planned that Jason will hear cases in Queen's Bench Division and the Chancery Division. The role of Deputy High Court Judge is reserved for those who have the experience and expertise to deal with very complex cases and will include work which would otherwise be undertaken by High Court Judges.

Jason will sit in the High Court for up to six weeks each year, and will also continue to practice full time from Chambers.

On his appointment Jason said: “It is an enormous privilege to be appointed to sit as a Deputy High Court judge. I have very much enjoyed sitting as a Recorder, not least because it brought a fresh perspective to my main role as an advocate. I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”

Chambers would like to congratulate Jason and wishes him every success in his appointment.
