We are delighted to announce that current pupils Millicent Wild and J Ockenden have accepted an invitation to join chambers as tenants.
They both started their pupillage here in September 2023 and will officially become tenants of 5 Essex Chambers in September 2024. Head of Chambers, Jason Beer KC, comments: “It is a real pleasure to welcome J and Millie as Member of Chambers. They both enjoyed outstanding pupillages – I look forward to seeing their considerable skills and industry develop still further into what are certain to be very successful practices.”
J comments: “I’m still reeling from the news that I’ve been offered tenancy at 5 Essex Chambers. Pupillage has been an extremely steep learning curve, but it’s been an absolute pleasure to get to grips with some of 5EC’s core practice areas. In first six I had the pleasure of seeing several of our amazingly talented barristers in action, and I am delighted at the prospect of having such brilliant, generous and supportive people as colleagues.”
Millie says: “I am delighted to have been offered tenancy at 5 Essex Chambers. I have found my pupillage very rewarding and am looking forward to continuing to learn from and work with my excellent colleagues. As a tenant, I hope to contribute much to chambers.”
