Fishmongers’ Hall Inquests: Jury rules that victims were ‘unlawfully killed’

Cambridge graduates Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, were fatally stabbed by convicted terrorist Usman Khan at an alumni event put on by prisoner education programme Learning Together on November 29, 2019. The attacker, Usman Khan, was shot dead by police officers on London Bridge​. 

Earlier today, the jury found the victims had been “unlawfully killed” and confirmed basic facts surrounding their deaths.

Members of Chambers are instructed in the Inquests as follows:

  • Aaron Moss and Jennifer Wright are instructed as junior counsel to the Inquests.
  • Jason Beer QC and Georgina Wolfe is instructed to represent West Midlands Police
  • Samantha Leek QC and Francesca Whitelaw are instructed by the Secretary of State for the Home Department and Secretary of State for Justice.
  • Fiona Barton QC is instructed on behalf of the Commissioner of the City of London Police.
