The inquests will focus on the decisions by Devon and Cornwall Police to provide a shotgun certificate to Mr Davison and to return his shotgun after it had been seized in 2020, as well as the systems in place within the police in Devon and Cornwall and nationally around firearms licensing.
Fiona Barton KC and Bobby Talalay act for the Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall Police and Russell Fortt acts for the head of firearms policy at the Home Office. The inquests are expected to last for six weeks.
