The inquests into the deaths of the pilot and passengers of a helicopter which crashed on 27 October 2018 in the vicinity of King Power Stadium, the home ground of Leicester City Football Club, commenced on 13 January 2025. The inquests are being heard over three weeks at Leicester City Hall by the Senior Coroner for Leicester City and South Leicestershire.
Among the five people who died was Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Chairman of Leicester City FC and CEO of King Power, the group which owns LCFC.
Following the crash, a safety investigation was carried out by the Air Accident Investigation Branch under retained Regulation (EU) No. 996/2010 and the Civil Aviation (Investigation of Air Accidents and Incidents) Regulations 2018. The AAIB produced its final report on 6 September 2023.
