Daniel Hobbs and Zander Goss to present a misconduct case on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service

2 October 2024

Daniel Hobbs and Zander Goss to be led by Paul Ozin KC of 23 Essex Street, on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service to present a misconduct case against 5 serving officers, and 2 former officers. The case is set to start on 28 October 2024, and run for 3 weeks.

The officers are alleged, variously, to have accessed a police system, or systems, relating to the disappearance of Sarah Everard, otherwise than in the course of their duties, and without a proper policing purpose, conduct alleged in each case to amount to gross misconduct.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Stuart Cundy is reported as stating: ‘First and foremost our thoughts remain with Sarah Everards’s family. We have kept them updated throughout the investigation and have apologised to them for the added distress this has caused.’

The case was widely reported this week, following the publication by the Metropolitan Police Service of the Public Notice of Hearing.
