Daniel represented the Chief Constable of Humberside Police in a technically complex misconduct case involving former officer, PC McGrory.
PC McGrory was alleged to have facilitated the online gambling activities of third parties running into many tens of thousands of pounds.
The Panel found that the activities the officer had become involved in should have given rise to a reasonable suspicion of fraud, money laundering, illegality and criminality. At best, the officer had turned a blind eye to that reasonable suspicion and, at worst, he had knowingly facilitated the illegal activities of others.
Had PC McGrory not resigned in advance of the misconduct hearing he would have been dismissed. Accordingly, he was placed onto the police barred list.
