We are delighted to welcome Aimee Riese who joins 5 Essex Chambers today as a Tenant.
Aimee joins us from Red Lion Chambers, where she has built considerable experience in inquiries, inquests and public law. She has carried out advisory work for government departments on a range of issues and cases. Her criminal law background means she is well placed to advise on issues that intersect public and criminal law matters.
Aimee has a strong background in human rights. Prior to the Bar, Aimee worked at various human rights organisations and was appointed by the Ministry of Justice as a Member of the Independent Monitoring Board at Harmondsworth Immigration Removal Centre.
Head of Chambers, Jason Beer KC says, “I am very pleased that Aimee has chosen to move to 5 Essex Chambers. Quite aside from the fact that she will help Chambers to meet the demands of ever increasing instructions at her level of call, she is already a very experienced inquests and inquiries practitioner – and her impressive advocacy skills, and background in human rights, will allow her to develop at pace into other core areas of our work.”
Aimee comments, “I am delighted to join 5 Essex Chambers and for the opportunity to be practising at such a highly regarded set, known for its cutting-edge work.”
