Bobby Talalay successful in false imprisonment jury trial

Bobby Talalay was instructed by Clyde and Co. on behalf of the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police. The four-day jury trial, at the Manchester Civil Justice Centre before HHJ Bird, related to the arrest of an 80-year-old man following allegations arising out of a long-standing neighbour dispute. The claim was for damages for loss of liberty.

In the event, the jury returned with favourable answers to the questions left to it, the judge found the arrest and detention to have been lawful, and the claim was dismissed.
