Beatrice Collier and Georgina Wolfe launch The Pupillage Podcast

3 January 2019

Beatrice Collier and Georgina Wolfe are hosting the first series of the Middle Temple’s Pupillage Podcast. The podcast is aimed at people looking for pupillage or those thinking seriously about a career at the Bar. Each episode is focused on a different aspect of the pupillage application process, with Georgina and Beatrice chatting to a variety of guests — recent tenants, members of pupillage committees, judges, silks, juniors, chambers directors and the Director of Education at Middle Temple – all of whom share their brilliant advice and tips on mini-pupillages, advocacy experience, applications, interviews, and how students should make the most of their Inn.

The first episode was released on 1 January 2019 and featured Ubah Dirie, barrister at 36 Civil, who told the Pupillage Podcast about her journey to the Bar, and Ishan Kolhatkar of BPTC who had lots of great suggestions about creating a CV. In yesterday’s episode Beatrice and Georgina discussed mini-pupillages with their guests from a range of different chambers.

Today’s episode is all about the Inns and features Richard Wilmot-Smith QC (39 Essex), the 2018 Master Treasurer of Middle Temple; Christa Richmond, Director of Education at Middle Temple; Michael Polak (Church Court Chambers), Deputy President of MTYBA; Lord Justice Bean; Lord Burnett of Maldon, the Lord Chief Justice; Alex Cisneros (No 5), Eleena Misra (Old Square), Andrew Hochhauser QC (Essex Court), Elaine Banton (7 Bedford Row).

The Pupillage Podcast is currently available to listen to on iTunes, SoundCloud, Spotify and MixCloud, with new episodes daily until 8 January 2019. Future episodes cover advocacy experience, practice areas, life on circuit, the Independent v Employed Bar, applications and interviews.
