The Bar Council are making their third business development visit to Kenya on 3rd-5th December. Alex Ustych will join a panel of speakers talking about Artificial Intelligence and Ethics. The event, held in conjunction with the Law Society of Kenya, will also cover subjects including anti-money laundering, international climate change law and alternative dispute resolution. Alex Ustych specialises in data protection and privacy law, with a particular emphasis on cybersecurity and AI. He is on the Attorney General’s B Panel of Counsel and is ranked as a leading junior in The Legal 500 directory (for data protection and inquests/inquiries). His clients include technology companies, charities, regulators, talent agencies and national newspapers. Alex has a particular interest in the impact of emerging technologies (such as AI) on individuals’ rights. He advises companies in novel industry areas (such as Virtual Reality) as well as public bodies in respect of major digital projects, including on international data transfers. He is a committee member of the Society for Computers & Law.
