Attorney General’s Panel promotions 2026

We are delighted to announce that Robert Cohen, Alex Ustych, Robert Talalay, Alice Meredith, Lissy Verrall-Withers, Paige Jones, Jack Palmer and Millicent Wild have been successful in this year’s applications for promotion to, or appointment to, the Attorney General’s Panels of Counsel.

• Robert Cohen, Alex Ustych and Robert Talalay have been promoted to the ‘A’ Panel.
• Alice Meredith has been promoted to the ‘B’ Panel.
• Lissy Verrall-Withers, Paige Jones, Jack Palmer and Millicent Wild have been appointed to the ‘C’ Panel.

These promotions and appointments take effect from 1 September and are for a five-year term. Chambers wishes them every success in their new roles.

Fellow members of the Attorney General’s Panels at 5 Essex Chambers already include:

• A Panel: Claire Palmer, Beatrice Collier, Georgina Wolfe, Rob Harland, Jonathan Dixey, Emma Price and Cicely Hayward
• B Panel: Aaron Moss, John Goss and Leila Ghahhary
• C Panel: Catriona Hodge, Peter Laverack, Edmund Gross, Jennifer Wright and Conor Monighan

Following these appointments, 5 Essex Chambers now has a record 23 members on the Attorney General’s Panels—10 A Panellists, 4 B Panellists (including one regional Panellist) and 9 C Panellists—meaning that 46% of eligible members of Chambers now serve on the Panels.
