Amy Clarke secures findings of Gross Misconduct against two officers accused of conducting an inappropriate sexual relationship whilst on duty

24 April 2019

Amy Clarke presented the case against a former Chief Inspector and a serving Sergeant. They were alleged to have conducted a long term affair whilst on duty, thereby neglecting their professional responsibilities and bringing discredit upon the police service. In addition, the former Chief Inspector was alleged to have conducted a relationship with a former victim of domestic abuse, who he had met in his professional capacity. All allegations were proven and the officers were dismissed and the Panel found that the conduct of both officers had fallen far below the Standards of Professional Behaviour.
