5 Essex Chambers shortlisted for Chambers and Partners DEI Awards 2026

We are delighted to announce that 5 Essex Chambers has been shortlisted for the Chambers and Partners DEI Awards 2026.

Emma Price and Millicent Wild have been recognised for their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, with both shortlisted in the Outstanding Contribution category.

Emma Price has served as Chambers’ Equality and Diversity Officer since 2020 and has led on and supported numerous initiatives since then. These include introducing bespoke E,D&I training for all barristers, pupils and business support staff at 5 Essex Chambers, formal work allocation and income monitoring, a parental leave mentoring scheme and a menopause policy, as well as formalising the provision of support for those undergoing IVF, or who experience miscarriage or baby loss, and those who are breastfeeding through an updated policy on parental leave and related matters. Emma is the co-author of Baby at the Bar, published in February this year and recently co-founded the Baby at the Bar network, which will bring together barrister parents at every stage of their parenting journey and facilitate mutual support. The network will launch in early 2027.

Millicent Wild is a member of Chambers’ ED&I Team and has made a significant pro bono contribution to equality, diversity and inclusion, with a particular focus on the protection of women and girls. She has designed and delivered specialist training for police forces on civil order applications used to protect victims of sexual violence, and has contributed to the development of policy in this area. In 2025, Millicent was awarded an MPS Commendation for combining legal expertise with operational insight to strengthen the safeguarding of vulnerable individuals.
